Mediterranean: balance a coast stay with city and heritage visits
First decide what your base is for: rest, time in a city, or access to particular heritage sites. Trying to fulfil all three purposes every day makes travel and waiting time disappear from the plan. If you stay on the coast, calculate an inland excursion door to door rather than treating it as a small addition. A province boundary is not the boundary of a convenient visitor cluster; two points in the same province are not necessarily easy to combine.
The difference between a directory and a recommendation matters here. An official record does not mean that a place is open that day, accessible to your group, or suitable for swimming. Plan rest, access to water and an early return for an outdoor visit, then establish which facilities actually exist with the operator. One main visit and one replaceable stop produce a more adaptable day than a chain of fixed reservations. Use our route tool to compare assumptions, not as advice about sea, weather or road safety.
